Devasnowtion!

Alex:
People keep checking in on us making sure we're okay and wishing us well.  Thanks for the concern!  I figured we could let everyone know that we're okay, and show some pics of what we're dealing with.

Here's progression, starting with a shot I took on Friday around lunch time.  The flakes were very large, like little falling snowballs. We had a couple inches already.
By the time I was done with work I figure we had between 6 and 12 inches.

By this morning we had a foot or foot and a half.

It's very hard to measure because it's so uneven.  There were enough times that it wasn't windy that it collected pretty well on the trees.  It was pretty to see, but we had quite a few branches down, especially with the Magnolias that make up the mall on our street.

We went for a walk this morning to take a few pics, and wound up going up to Great Harvest (a local bakery and coffee shop) for breakfast and to buy a loaf of much-needed bread.

We had some free pie samples and some great breakfast paninis
On the way back, grabbed a shot of Bacco's - a fancy little local establishment that has become our favorite Italian place.

This fire hydrant looked like a gnome, and the branches of this tree had sagged in layers that made it look like a wedding cake.

All the local crows have poor camouflage with this kind of weather.

The pine tree that stands next to our driveway really got lopsided and saggy.

Stay warm out there!!
